On June 21, 2017, a group of four, including Mr. Zou Qian, Chairman of the Board, Mr. Xu Zhigang, Deputy General Manager, Mr. Zhou Fangli from the Sales Department, and Mr. Ji Shangjun, Project Manager from the Technology Center, traveled to Chile, South America to participate in the 2017 International Hydrometallurgy Seminar (Hydroprocess ICMSE 2017), co-organized by our company. The three-day conference, held from the 21st to the 23rd, took place at the Hotel Grand Hyatt Santiago, a five-star hotel in Santiago, Chile.
The conference attracted a large number of attendees, filling the venue to capacity. Participants mainly included experts, scholars, and technicians in hydrometallurgy, as well as representatives from several major companies in the field, such as BHP Billiton, Codelco (Chilean National Copper Corporation), and Grupo Mexico. In addition to experts, technicians, and companies from Chile, attendees also came from countries including the United States, Mexico, Canada, Australia, China, Russia, India, and Bolivia.
The conference covered new ideas, technologies, and methods in the leaching, extraction, and electrowinning of copper and other valuable metals, as well as new materials and equipment related to hydrometallurgy.
Mr. Zou Qian, Chairman of the Board, delivered the keynote speech at the opening ceremony on the afternoon of the 21st. He expressed his hope that the conference would serve as a platform for open communication, mutual learning, and collective improvement, driving the global hydrometallurgy technology towards new heights.
Due to the large number of participants, the seminar was divided into two parallel sessions: one focusing on the results of basic research and the other on practical applications and technologies. Attendees showed great enthusiasm, raising common and pressing issues in current production operations and offering solutions. Following each presentation, there were lively question-and-answer sessions, thoughtful discussions, and active learning, creating a harmonious atmosphere. The conference was deemed a great success, with participants feeling they gained a lot, broadened their horizons, and learned new experiences, technologies, and problem-solving methods. Our company presented four academic papers at the conference, which attracted considerable attention. Many experts and technicians expressed interest in further in-depth understanding and communication after the conference.
During breaks and after the conference, our company engaged in intensive and candid exchanges with clients, helping them solve various problems encountered in their production operations. Clients expressed great satisfaction with our Mextral series of extractants, praising their reliability, stable performance, and excellent technical service. They expressed a desire to further strengthen cooperation with our company in the future.
The conference significantly increased global copper smelting companies' awareness of our Mextral series of products, deepened the understanding of our technical capabilities among domestic and international peers, and greatly enhanced Kopperchem's influence in the international hydrometallurgy field.
