Embracing Work -- Reflections on "Gan Fa"
To live a fulfilling life, you only have two choices: "Do what you love," or "Love what you do." I was deeply moved by this sentence from Inamori Kazuo's book "The Living Way." Fifteen years ago, at the age of 30, I was the production and R&D manager of a cosmetics company. My daily work was repetitive and tedious. The company was in its early stages, with no decent experimental equipment and no supervisors or mentors to guide me. I wondered if life would go on like this day after day, so I prepared to resign and change careers. The company president said to me, "You can take some time off to sort out your thoughts. If you still love this job, we welcome you back anytime." During that time off, I often asked myself: Am I really a lazy person? Do I really dislike my previous job? Were there no exhilarating moments in my work? The answer was no. So I quickly asked to return to my job. This time, as the book says, I tried to change my mindset, find fun in my daily work, and rejoice in every small breakthrough. Gradually, I mastered and became familiar with the adjustment of cosmetic formulas. In my spare time, I also extensively explored new raw materials and technologies, bringing new products to the company. Although the company later added production management to my responsibilities, I didn't feel it was an extra burden; instead, it complemented the product design and production application. I embraced my work and became immersed in it, a stark contrast to my previous feelings. When I left the company, I could proudly say that I had experience with all types of wash-and-care cosmetics and could talk about any brand for a long time. As Inamori Kazuo said, "Immerse yourself in your work and learn to love it." I did it. A vocation is not something that appears by chance; it is something you create yourself. People are willing to endure hardship for what they love, considering it worthwhile. Looking back on that experience, although my best years were spent there and it didn't bring me much wealth, I have no regrets. I understand that the hardships of youth are worth paying for; a life without hardship is incomplete and meaningless. Let's consider these hardships as dark clouds. As long as we maintain a positive attitude and move forward, as Inamori Kazuo said, and work hard at all times, even those dark clouds will have a different look. You will find that those clouds are brilliantly angry and violently turbulent. After the clouds, there will be a rain of white, a vast expanse of blue sea and green mountains, a bright moon in the sky, and stars shining everywhere. Moreover, I cultivated my will, refined my character, and accumulated knowledge and experience in my work, which will greatly benefit my future life. As the saying goes, heaven and hell are next to each other. If you view work as a pleasure, life is heaven; if you view work as an obligation, life is hell. Work often feels dull and boring, often causing feelings of depression and anxiety. This is the experience of most people. Under the same circumstances, the attitude towards work is determined by one's inner subjective attitude. Setting aside lofty ideals, work is primarily about making a living. When survival becomes difficult, everything is an illusion. Since you've taken on the job, do it well. Do your best each day. Since you're wearing this robe, you should strike the bell well, striking it differently. To quote Inamori Kazuo: "The other side of hard work is a beautiful life." Friends, let's be down-to-earth, starting from the present, finding work we love, even if the process is full of hardships, like searching for a castle in the sky. Reading experience of "Autumn Song - For Nuannuan"
I first encountered this poem during my junior or senior high school years, when it was included in our curriculum. It shattered my preconceived notions of autumn, transforming the usual sense of bleakness into a feeling of warmth, leaving a lasting impression.
The poem opens with imagery of falling leaves, reeds, the sound of pounding clothes, and departing geese—a scene of fading flowers, broken melodies, and an autumn seemingly devoid of anything positive, evoking a sense of profound sadness in the poet. However, the simple lines, “Only leaving a warm warmth, only leaving a warm warmth,
everything is left behind,” introduce a warm and hopeful expectation. It seems the poet believes that as long as warmth remains, everything remains. This sparks endless speculation, prompting reflection on the identity of "Warmth." This warm, feminine name raises questions. Initially, I imagined "Warmth" to be a family member, a steadfast companion offering unwavering support during difficult times, allowing the poet to endure the lonely autumn and patiently await the spring. Later, I considered the possibility that "Warmth" is not a real person but a symbol, an ideal, a steadfast belief in the poet's heart. Even amidst the desolation of autumn, "Warmth" would not fade with the autumn wind. Even amidst life's ups and downs, when spring arrives, everything will remain. Now, I wonder if "Warmth" is simply "Warmth," like a kindness from a stranger during a rainstorm, or a light illuminating a home after a tiring day. As long as we have experienced it, we possess "Warmth." As the poet says, the world is cold enough; let us warm each other with our body heat.

Process inspection is the "eyes" of the equipment operation, diagnosing "diseases" in the equipment and providing targeted treatment to ensure the safe and stable operation of the equipment. Raw and auxiliary material inspection ensures that the "food" entering the equipment is safe and reliable. Finished product inspection lays the foundation for the company's sales, preventing unqualified products from entering or leaving the company and improving customer satisfaction to meet the needs of enterprise development.
A glimpse into a day in the Quality Inspection Department reveals a vibrant and energetic team. They are constantly challenged by heavy workloads and the difficulty of analyzing samples. However, throughout their busy day, they work with clear division of labor, positive attitudes, rigorous output, and calm problem-solving. Everyone performs their duties according to the plan, working in an orderly and efficient manner.
The continuous development of the enterprise places higher demands on employees' skills, making continuous learning of theoretical knowledge and improvement of operational skills urgent. Given the heavy analysis workload and to meet the needs of various positions, the department has implemented diverse training methods. Self-directed learning is our most important approach, further improving everyone's skills. For a rapidly developing enterprise, the addition of fresh blood is essential. Regarding the training of new employees, the department adheres to the company's principle of "old employees mentoring new employees." Experienced employees unreservedly share their accumulated experience with new employees, enabling them to gradually take on the work of their positions. The good and harmonious work atmosphere makes everyone happy and encourages mutual assistance, which has become commonplace in the department. Everyone actively coordinates and works overtime to complete inspection work within the stipulated time when faced with suddenly added analysis tasks. In addition to their regular duties, they also handle tasks such as disposing of waste liquid and collecting kerosene and alcohol. In the hot summer, the sight of these slender women carrying buckets of waste liquid weighing dozens of kilograms into the sewage pool, their smiles radiant, is unforgettable. They are a beautiful landscape in the plant, shining brightly in their ordinary positions.
Most of the women in the department are of an age where they have both elderly parents and children to care for. They not only play important roles at work but also bear the responsibilities of wives and mothers in life. The double burden of career and family weighs heavily on them, but they have not retreated. With a positive and optimistic attitude and unique wisdom, they balance the two, achieving a "win-win" situation. The company provides them with a platform for skill improvement, economic independence, and value realization, and they contribute to the company's development with their diligent hands and wisdom.
